Namaste!
Hi, I’m Sristy. I live in New Delhi and run Two Roads Studio, the city’s only space created to support women in entrepreneurship. In 2026 my goal is to build a reading room where women can read and relax.
I grew up as a brown girl in a conservative household. Stepping out alone wasn’t allowed, and most of the world existed only in my imagination. That restriction made me curious and restless.
At 21, I moved to Vancouver to study filmmaking. I made some questionable calls. Rented a room from a Craigslist guy who was growing shrooms, walked alone on the drug infested streets of East Hastings, lost my apartment keycard and had to wait in the freezing cold. None of it was smart but I was learning to deal with problems on my own.
I kept getting back up.
I briefly worked in Hollywood but quit due to long hours, started a film company that failed in its first year, produced ads for brands that never paid me, and waited tables to learn I was terrible at it. I felt like a relentless loser, yet I couldn’t stop trying.
Everything changed when a poetry video I filmed at a Delhi Poetry Slam event went viral, picked up by The Times of India, BBC, and German TV ARD. What started as one video became a full-time career for years — publishing poets, running festivals and workshops. I went all in, until burnout hit.
I left and traveled to magical, remote places across India — living on a quiet island in Goa, slowing down in Santiniketan, and driving 2,500 km to Coorg with my sister and our dogs, staying on a coffee estate and hiking forests. Travel refueled me and made me bolder, more willing to experiment.
Two Roads Studio was born from this journey. A space for women, especially women of colour, learning by doing, taking risks, and giving themselves permission to try.
