Women Reading Together
This is our project, together as women. To create a room away from the male gaze where women can indulge in reading and relaxing.

The city’s danger is not only in headlines but in the everyday policing of women’s bodies. This is why this space must exist. Imagine walking into a room where your guard drops.
Where no one is watching how you sit or how much space you take. You slide onto a carpet, lean your back against a wall, stretch your legs without thinking, sink into a bean bag, or simply stand still with a book in your hand. No correction. No gaze. No apology. Just your body, finally allowed to exist.

Help me build this
The SPACE
We have found the perfect place to build our Reading Room in Delhi. The place was in bad shape, unused for years before we found it. We put all our hard-earned savings into leasing and renovating it so we can turn it around and create something for the women of Delhi.
THE IDEA
This unsafe city needed a space where Delhi women could just exist without fear. Growing up in Delhi, Saumya and I never had a safe place to go to. Things we had no power to change as teenagers are things we are choosing to change now, as women in our 30s.
After much fights with our family, authorities, MCD and spending months trying to get legal paperwork, we have made it happen.
Our next mission for 2026 is to build an all-female reading room inside Two Roads Studio 📚 A place where women could sit quietly, read a book, attend a workshop, or even have coffee without being watched, judged, or stared at.
